The Circling Dance of Hate
Hate begets hate, violence begets violence…
Throw a stone at someone,
and so long as that justifies reaction is for that someone to throw a stone back at you,
the cycle never ends.
And that is why in a world dominated by the principles of “an eye for an eye” justice, it was a revolutionary thought when in the Bible, that it was proposed that if someone slaps you on the cheek, you offer the other. It wasn’t to asking you to roll over and submit to your aggressor, but rather propose that aggression should never be met with aggression – breaking the cycle of unending successive aggression.
